Rev. Dr. Kathleen Johnson, Minister
Rev. Dr. Kathleen Johnson is an inspired visionary spiritual leader and teacher of Loving-Kindness and Universal Spiritual Principles based in New Thought Ancient Wisdom. Her deepest desire is that we all awaken to our Divine Giftedness and Wholeness, our own unique Genius Code. In this way, we live in supreme service to the Well-Being of the Larger Whole. Rev.Dr. Kathleen’s education has prepared her to serve in ministry in a very unique way. She has a Bachelors in Psychology and Masters in Counseling from the University of Delaware; and a Doctorate in Religious Studies and Ministers Certificate from Emerson Theological Institute. She attended ministry school at the Center for Conscious Living in NJ and graduated in 2004. She served as Founding Minister of Awakened Heart Spiritual Center until May 31, 2010 and is currently the Founding Minister of the Center for Joyful Living. She was a Gateway Guide for Barbara Marx Hubbard’s Gateway to Conscious Evolution in the early 2000’s and She attended Jean Houston’s Mystery School in 2001. The Interfaith movement is a deep interest and so she was a delegate representing New Thought at the 2009 Parliament of World’s Religions in Melbourne, Australia. She is also a Kripalu DansKinetics Instructor, a form of yoga and creative dance. She has served in a variety of vocations: for 10 years as an accountant, 15 years as a school counselor, and now nearly 6 years as a minister.
Candace Berkowitz, RScP, President
Candace is a licensed professional Religious Science Practitioner and Kundalini Yoga and Meditation teacher who believes and practices the principles of this New Thought, Ancient Wisdom way of life. Candace has been in leadership for five years, dedicating time to developing a spiritual community where all may come to share and explore the magnificent diversity of God’s creation as each True Self. She is honored and excited to be currently providing leadership as the president of the board for The Center for Joyful Living in the Hockessin Delaware area.
Amy Anders, Treasurer
Amy Anders is a Life Coach, Spiritual Mentor and Energy Healer who has been dedicated to the New Thought spiritual path for 10+ years. She brings a diverse background to support The Center for Joyful Living in her role as Treasurer. Amy is most passionate about shining her light to support others as they pursue their own unique journeys.
Kimberly Inman, Secretary
Kimberly has been dedicated to the New Thought spiritual path for the past 3 years, and is presently preparing for entry to the Advanced Consciousness Studies Program and Professional Religious Science Practitioner Studies.
Kimberly has more than 20 years of experience working with teams and organizations on increasing overall productivity while focusing on personal dynamics and organizational streamlining. Throughout her career and education, she has focused on transformation and development in organizations and leadership. She brings with her exceptional organizational, communications, and project management skills.

Michele Craner, Member at Large & Healing Arts Director
Michele Craner is a Licensed Massage Therapist, an Exercise Rehabilitation Specialist, and a Martial Arts Instructor who has been part of the small business community for over ten years. She believes and practices the principles of New Thought Ancient Wisdom and is dedicated to helping others through her work as a healing touch practitioner as well as being an active member of the Center For Joyful Living Community.
“My goal as the Special Events Coordinator is to serve the community through the creation, organization, and hosting of special events with the purpose of inspiring life enrichment through joyful living and the expansion of spirit. As the community grows I intend to take leadership in developing a Holistic Healing Center within The Center For Joyful Living that provides the community with a variety of healing services and practitioners”.
Rich Johnson, Member at Large
Rich Johnson has been on a spiritual path for some time and has focused on New Thought, Ancient Wisdom studies and practices for the past 3 years.
He brings an interesting background to the position including a B. S. in Electrical and Computer Engineering, an MBA from Widener University and recent certification as a Certified Professional in Supply Management from The Institute of Supply Management (ISM).
Being of service to Special Olympics of Delaware the Delaware Chapter of the Institute of Supply Management and The Center For Joyful Living provides a balance of exposure and experience in various organizations. He is presently pursuing Certification as a Life Coach from the Institute for Professional Excellence in Coaching (iPEC).
Allison Betts, Member at Large & Events Director
Allison is a long time student of the New Thought-Ancient Wisdom teachings. She is a long time servant of Agape International Spiritual Center and a member of the Agape International Choir, under the direction of Rickie Byars Beckwith. With Rev. Dr. Michael Bernard Beckwith as her spiritual leader for over 15 years, she has participated in multiple opportunities for enhancing her life-experiences. She is grounded in spirituality, meditation, visioning and sacred service and has taken a stand for being a beneficial presence on the planet.
After 20 years of employment with the State of California, Allison relocated from the Los Angeles area to take a position with the Federal Government in Philadelphia, PA. Allison holds a MBA in Public Administration. In the community, She has served in the capacity of Treasure, Political Campaign Manager, Entertainment Coordinator, as well as numerous Board Council positions.
Currently, Allison is rising to a more profound level of understanding, wisdom and practice through Professional Religious Science Practitioner Studies.
